BSC23 is a springboard for young competitors and referees

Baltic Sea Championship 2023 is a springboard for young competitors and referees to international competitions. The purpose of the BSC23 judo competition organized by the Orimattila Judo Club is to be the first experience for Finnish athletes and referees in an international judo competition.

We want to give an opportunity to those referees who want to aim for international competitions and increase their referee license, and not just always the same referees. 

There are not too many referees in Finland, so we give referees the opportunity now and certainly in the future to come to our competition, says competition director Tero Rönkkö.

At the same time, we want referees to come from several different countries, so that no one (coaches) can call the referees biased, jokes Rönkkö
